The IA3513 is a complete Voice/Power solution for wireless headsets designed for interface with the STMicroelectronics STLC2500 series Bluetooth EDR chips. The IA3513 includes a PCM Codec to perform the transmit encoding analog-to-digital (A/D) and the receive decoding digital-to-analog (D/A). Filtering and gain conditioning suitable for voice band communication systems are also built into this Codec. The Power management features of this IC include a Li-Ion/Li-Pol Battery charger that operates from either power adaptor or USB power and a DC/DC converter to power the complete chipset of the headset.

For increased flexibility, programmable GPIOs are also included that can be programmed for a variety of functions such as external power or charge phase signaling by driving LEDs, press button reading, and vibration motor driver.

To protect the valuable PCB “real-estate” in the target application, the IC is programmable via an I2C interface. This makes possible the reduced pin count presented (no dedicated control pins). The IA3513 also includes a Clock Generation Block for increased flexibility; it generates both 26MHz and 32kHz output clocks.
